Q: What do I do now? A: The first step is acknowledging your need to speak with a counselling therapist. The second step is looking for one - you've done both if you're reading this. The next step would be for you to have your free 30 minute consultation. Call me 778.846.4825 or email [email protected] to set that up today!
Q: How will I know we're a good fit for one another? A: Think about what traits a good listener has, and ask me about my ideas on how we can resolve the issues you're experiencing together. To get a true sense of this, you'll have to call or see me first!
Q: How long are counselling sessions? A: Individual counselling sessions are typically 50 minutes. Couples/Family sessions can be 50 minutes long also, but typically you will find 80 minutes may serve you better due to the complexity of the issues that are presented. Sessions with children and youth are 60 minutes, and include a 10 minute debriefing with parents/guardians at the start and end of the session.
Q: How long do I need to see a counsellor for? A: This depends on your needs and your personal goals. Some individuals feel one to four sessions are enough, yet others feel the need for several to note personal progress. Your journey is your own, and you may realize you'd like more sessions to feel satisfied.
Q: What is the fee for counselling? A: Fees vary depending on the type of service you require, e.g.: -Individual - 50 min - $120 -Couples/Family - 50 min $120, 80 min $170 -Child/Youth & Parent debriefing - 60 mins $120
Q: Is there a sliding scale? A: Yes, I offer a sliding scale to post-secondary students, low-income individuals, and to those who seek long-term therapy.
