Who Am I?
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors
|
I have the pleasure of identifying with a multiple of dynamic cultures. After my parents migrated from India to Scotland in the 60’s, I was born-and-raised in Scotland, and moved to Canada in the 90’s to finish school and complete post-secondary.
I am a graduate of the University of Fraser Valley with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Psychology, and I hold a Master degree in Counselling Psychology from City University of Seattle, which allows me to work in Canada and the United States as a counselling therapist. I have experience within a range of counselling programs, including: individual, couple and family counselling; alcohol and drug; achieving balance for children; stopping the violence counselling; and child and youth mental health. I have also worked to establish two successful youth and clinical support programs for refugee children and families affected by trauma and mental health concurrently. Along with private practice, I work for a community service agency as a clinical therapist serving children, youth, and their families with mental health concerns supplemented by multiple cultural barriers. My approach to the counselling relationship is one of mutual respect and genuineness while maintaining confidentiality. Having worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults from all walks of the earth, I feel confident in building connections with all members of society. I truly understand the frustrations that can affect an individual from living a noble life, and I can work with you to find the solutions that best suit your needs.
